Webinar: Developing a large scale asbestos risk assessment model and consolidating asbestos registers

15th of October 1.30 AEDT (3.30pm NZDT, 10.30 AWST)

The VAEA have developed a consolidated asbestos register and a new risk model to generate a schedule for prioritised removal of asbestos from Victorian government owned buildings. The consolidated register, the first of its type, was developed collecting information on the location and condition of ACMs, including the review of asbestos registers for thousands of buildings.

The VAEA commissioned research to determine if there was an existing risk assessment model for a large scale asbestos removal program examining Australian and international models. As there was no consistent model for large scale prioritised asbestos removal programs the VAEA created a new risk assessment model.

The VAEA will discuss the application and testing of the risk assessment model as well as observations and insights on asbestos registers.
