This year we are delighted to welcome our international speakers to the conference from the UK, Malaysia, Indonesia and Laos. Day two of the conference will hold a variety of sessions with an international focus.
Plenary keynote: The Global Asbestos Panorama: 2019
As the head of the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat (IBAS), Laurie Kazan-Allen has been on the front line of campaigning for a global ban on asbestos. In order to understand how Australia can influence national bans on asbestos through the National Strategic Plan, we need to know what is happening globally on asbestos mining, manufacturing and use of asbestos.
Concurrent breakout track session: Track 6 – International Collaboration and Leadership
This breakout session will include presentations on recent developments in Lao PDR, a panel session on international perspectives on key issues when campaigning for national bans on asbestos production and use, and a presentation on the National Strategic Plan for Asbestos Awareness and Management 2019-2023, focusing on international leadership and collaboration.
Experts from across South East Asia will be in attendance to share their experiences and knowledge.
